In The Future

Nobody in the world knows what the future holds; yet many can guess. With the extreme usage of cars in today’s world, there are many environmental threats. Rising temperatures due to a magnified greenhouse effect, rising temperatures in bays of water due to power plants cooling turbines, and air pollution from oil burning power plants all contribute to the environmental problems. Solar cells can fix all of these problems. With no Carbon Dioxide released, electric cars can be used and powered by the sun. Solar cells do not need to cool the non-moving parts and therefore will leave the natural temperature of the bays of water alone. With no burning or chemical changes taking place there are no products produced, and therefore will show no air pollution. Most people would notice the area needed by a solar panel and would argue that for the space that an oil burning plant takes up, it produces much more energy than a field of solar panels the same size, but there are plenty of places to put solar panels. The sun’s energy hits the tops of roofs and is wasted and turned into heat energy on the surface or reflected. Why not harness this wasted energy? Federal law requires power companies to buy back any power produced from a residential home. So, not only can homeowners save energy by harnessing their own energy, but people can now make money from the sun, something that has been shining for millions of years and available to all. In the future people will learn that fossil fuels will run out and need a new source of fuel. Solar cells are the answer.
